CATTLE SHOW
Beef Cattle

A copy of liability insurance must/should be carried so that if anyone were to ask for proof the exhibitor has it.
It is highly recommended that the exhibitor carries a minimum of 1 million coverage.
All exhibitors are required to pay a $7.00 membership fee; fee will be deducted from prize money unless it has been paid before hand.
Beef cattle will be admitted to the grounds on Saturday July 27 before 10:00am.
All cattle must remain until the completion of judging and under no circumstances may any cattle leave before 5pm even if judging has been completed, unless release by the LAS Beef Committee.
All cattle must have vacated the barn by 6pm on Saturday July 27 2024, unless the Beef Cattle Chairman has given permission.
To assist in the cleaning the barns the directors would appreciate that exhibitors DO NOT USE sawdust or shavings. Straw only.
CCIA ear tags WILL be checked on arrival. Upon arrival, if any animal is missing their CCIA Eartag they will not be allowed on the grounds.
All animals shown must be REGISTERED PUREBRED Canadian.
An exhibitor is any breeder or farm, which presents animals or farm products for official placing by a judge at the time specified by the fair for judging.
NO SPLITTING OF COW/CALF PAIRS.
BEEF CATTLE CLASSIFICATION
A fair must offer a minimum of 2 bull classes, 3 female classes and 1 group class to a maximum of 10 classes.
Maximum 2 entries per class.
Each breeding unit is allowed a maximum of 10 exhibits excluding the Breeder’s Herd. All exhibits must be registered in the name of the exhibitor.
Prize Money
$50.00, $40.00, $30.00, $25.00, $20.00, all other placings to 10th place $10.00.

Section
- Bull Calf- born on or after January 1 2024, minimum 3 months old on day of judging.
- Bull Jr. Yearling- Born April 1 2023 to December 31st 2023.
- Bull Sr. Yearling- Born January 1 2023 to March 31st 2023.
- Female Calf- Born on or after January 1st 2024, minimum 3 months old of day of judging.
- Female Jr. Yearling – born April 1st 2023 to December 2023.
- Female Sr. Yearling- born January 1st 2023 to March 31st 2023.
- Female- born January 1st 2022 to December 31st 2022 with her own 2024 natural purebred, tattooed calf at foot. Female and calf shall be shown as an unit except that the calf is eligible to be shown as single animal in section 9.
- Female born prior to January 2021 with her own 2024 natural purebred, tattooed calf at foot. Female and calf shall be shown as an unit except that the calf is eligible to be shown as a single animal in section 9.
- Breeders Herd- a group of 4 animals bred by exhibitor with both sexes represented. Animals must have been exhibited in section 1-9. At least one animal must be owned by the exhibitor. Limited to one entry per exhibitor. Herds will be shown in their own classes.
- Champion Female- open to all 1st place females in all Classes. Ribbon Only.
- Champion Male- open to all 1st place males in all Classes. Ribbon Only.
Class 28- Showmanship Classes (following open show)
All placings will receive $10.00 cash.
Peewees- ages 8 and under. Must be accompanied by an experienced show person.
Juniors- ages 9-14 as of January 1st 2024.
Intermediate: age 15-18 as of January 1st 2024.
Seniors: age 19-21 as January 1st 2024, Trophy donated by
Champion Showperson –open to the 1st place peewee, junior, intermediate and senior.
Over 40 Showmanship Class- open to anyone that willing to show an animal. Sponsored by Ernest Boyles and Sons Ltd. To be judged by the champion showperson.

NOTE: THIS SHOW IS AN OPEN SHOW
All animals over 6 months of age must have their original registration papers on site. No goat may show in more than one class, except for Championship or special classes. Goats shown in Special classes must have been shown in their regular classes. Animals must be on the grounds by 9:00 am. Whites shall be worn. Milkers must be milked dry 12 hours prior to judging. Goats with hard distended udders will be disqualified at the discretion of the judge. Entries are limited animals per exhibitor per section. There is no limit to the numbers of sections entered. Please submit prize claim sheet to the secretary within 10 days of the fair.

Rules
All crops must be grown in 2023. The exhibit must consist of one 10 inch slice of hay, machine baled, undisturbed, placed in a plastic bag. All exhibits must be in no later than 4 pm Thursday July 23.

- Breeders Flock (Bred and Owned by exhibitor), a group of 4 animals, both sexes to be represented. Each animal must have been exhibited in one of the previous classes. All animals must be of one breed.
